Round-table discussion at Andrássy University

On December the 12th 2011 Andrássy University hosted important guests for the round-table discussion under the topic “German-Hungarian economic relations - a way out of crisis”. Among the speakers were:

• Manfred Bey, chairman of the German Business Club
• Dr. Arne Gobert, managing partner of Gobert & Partners
• Kay-Uwe Blandow, managing partner of IVG Hungary
• Prof. Dr. Stefan Okruch, Andrássy University Budapest

This event undoubtedly will serve to strengthen bilateral relations between the German and Hungarian business.

Gobert & Partners Office Opening Event

1st of December is an important date for our company due to many reasons.

First of all, we officially opened the doors of our new office on Andrássy street 10, where we moved recently. The Office Opening Event started at 7 PM, on December 1st and was accompanied with live music, entertainment and cuisine specialties. We welcome our valued partners and friends to visit us at our new location: Hungary, 1061 Budapest, Stern Palota, Andrássy út 10.

Second of all, we welcomed on board another legal team member—Dr. Réka Ipacs, who was officially announced as a Partner on December 1st as well. Having qualified as an Attorney in 2005, Réka actively practiced her knowledge in various respected law firms. During her career, she successfully resolved numerous issues in commercial law and IP/IT area as well as tax law. Prior to joining our team, Réka was a cooperative partner with Csiby & Partners Law Office concerning client work in the field of corporate law. Her expertise and knowledge in such significant legal areas will certainly add value to our services.

And last but not least—our company undergone slight rebranding, and you may see our new logo at the top of the page. We believe that it truly represents our continuous progress and improvement of our services from both legal and tax point of view.

Charity Table Tennis Tournament: EDF – Gobert, Fest and Partners – Health by the Pingpong Table, 31 March 2011

The Hungarian-French Chamber of Commerce (MFKI) and its member companies EDF and Luther, Gobert, Fest and Partners Attorneys at Law / Taxand held a charity table tennis tournament on March 31, 2011 with the title „EDF – Gobert, Fest and Partners – Health by the Pingpong Table”. The event was featuring a vibrant presentation of the sport by world champion Tibor Klampár and member of the Hungarian champion team Ádám Lindner. Please see the press release of the event here.

Business Seminar: Bug in the System - Expert Cooperation in Corporate Fraud Investigation

AAM Management Information Consulting Ltd. forensic expert Robert Melli and legal expert of fraud investigation at Gobert, Fest & Partners Attorneys at Law / Taxand Dr. Attila Fest addressed the important aspects and early involvement of experts in corporate fraud investigation. The experts agreed that prevention is key and the early participation of forensic and legal experts in the investigation process could significantly decrease the potential damages. Business Seminar: Tax / Legal Changes for Survival - and How to Survive Them

Gobert, Fest & Partners Attorneys at Law / Taxand and its cooperating partners at their recent business seminar addressed the most recent legal and tax law changes that affect significant players of the Hungarian economy as well as the entire tax and legal environment of the country. Participants of the seminar included managing directors, CEOs and CFOs of multinational companies operating in Hungary, and Hungarian and foreign investors. Speakers of the event included Ildikó Hadas, head of tax, Gobert, Fest & Partners Attorneys at Law / Taxand, Dr. Richard Boros, head of department at APEH as transfer price specialist, Adrienn Beliczky, head of tax strategy and regulation at Magyar Telekom Group, dr. Conference Report and Video: “Fit for the Future?” - Important Business Law and Tax Aspects

On October 21, 2010 our firm and its cooperating partners hosted the international conference entitled “Fit for the Future? – Important Business Law and Tax Aspects”. With the active participation of distinguished clients, partners of the firm discussed the experience of the past decades in terms of legal and taxation issues that both effect market players in the Hungarian realm. The five panel discussions addressed topics at the corporate, commercial and M&A, employment, real estate, tax and investment climate, and telecommunications scene.To download the conference report click here.

Presentation at the Italian Chamber of Commerce

In May 2009 two seminars had been held by the colleagues of Gobert, Fest and Partners Law Firm at the headquarters of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Hungary. The event was jointly organized by the same entity with our law Firm being the member of the same chamber.

The language of the presentation was the Italian. The title of our topics were respectively „War for cash, enterprises in the financial crisis” (presenter: Lilla Stricca) and „Practical solutions for claims’ enforcement” (presenter: Péter László).

Presentation at the Franco-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce (CCIFH)

We have been developing a strong relationship with the Franco-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce (CCIFH), which has over 200 members. Presentations by our lawyers Anna Veres and Agnes Agoston were made at the "M2M" meeting which the Chamber organised. (French language only.) Titled as “Economies par la restructuration des entreprises – structures d’entreprises, plus ou moins connues“ and “Réduction de coûts par voie de procédure électronique des sociétés”
